''I do not know the American gentleman, God forgive me for putting two such words together.''
Charles Dickens
(1812-1870)
That, my dear Charles, is because you did not know ME in your day - moi, the North American Gentleman! heh-heh-heh ~~~~~~ We have so many things in common, Dickens and I - sharp tongue and veracity aplenty - we are fellow ''insightful linguists'' after all...!

Hmm... Is it just me, or did Lord Byron break from poetic prose there, at some point, to dive head first into eloquent, rhapsodical rambling (though well-read, rambling it still is!)... Hmm?!?
He probably penned that on "one of those nights"... One of those *gothic* nights when the Shelleys and the alluring Miss Clairmont were around... And Dr. Polidori brought the ether... *LOL*
Too bad it went out of style as with LUMINIFEROUS AETHER... *sigh*
Crack just isn't as distinguished - not that I've used it though! Whoa, now! *LOL*
'nuff ramblin'
