About Me
- Name: Luminous (\ô/) Luciano™
Born in the Age of Aquarius, destined to seek out truths in many an art form, trained as a historian and a journalist but truly a prose-lover... Luciano is out to dispel any clichés and reinvent them all both to the tune of a little something called the truth as also to his own image - and being old-fashioned, he does not mind that distinction one infinitesimal tiny bit at all...! "There are two ways to spread the light; be the candle... or the mirror that reflects It." I have chosen to be the latter... okay? ~*~ "To be not only a seeker of light... but a dream weaver of light" ~*~ For as surely as the moon reflects the light from the sun, you and I can reflect the Light from Above - and be, indeed, the light of this world! ~*~*~*~ NOTE: THERE ARE COOKIES ~ from at least three parties~ ON ALL OF MY BLOGS! ~*~ accept it!

Ramble all you want about this:
HERE.
Thank you.

Ok - I'll start then...
From The Man With The White Suit to that Bridges Over The River Kwai pivotal role and, of course, that of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Sir Alec Guinness sort of acquired a reputation of a "neo-mystic" I'd say...
Certainly Star Wars fanatics revered the man and worshipped the ground he trode on or something...!!!
Now that was a bit too much for Sir G (as it is for me, myself and I, also...!) - and I'll always remember what he told one of those fans who came up to him one day and confessed to having seen the original Star Wars a whole lot of times... He told the fanboy to NEVER SEE THE FILM AGAIN.
Hmm - that sure is erudite and wise advice, worthy of a mystic! And of a purported "jedi"...!
The fact is, Alec Guinness knew, as we all should know too, that life is just too short!
Seeing one film over and over again - gee, that cuts your already VERY SLIM CHANCES TO BEGIN WITH of discovering hundreds of other worthy pieces of celluloid that are floating around, somewhere, unwanted and abandoned...! :(
Many gems never get their fair shake that way...
Beyond that mere aspect of things - WE do not widen and broaden our horizons either!
Alec Guinness (I dropped the "Sir" - cause he, Sean Connery, Olivier and all the rest won't take their titles with them to the other side - just as they won't their riches and fame!) KNEW, without a shadow of a doubt, that life is not to be spent obsessing over any one single thing... UNLESS IT IS THE ONE SURE THING: THAT THERE IS ANOTHER SIDE!
Alec is in that other side now - he has crossed over; he has passed on.
Maybe NOW he is truly a Jedi Knight - like he was at the end of 1983's "Return of the Jedi"...!
Now, no need to see the film again, believe me...!
Believe Alec! ;)
Obi-Wan has met his true master -
and it isn't Yoda...
It isn't "Qui-Gon Jinn" either
(although the resemblance is striking at times - Liam Neeson was made up to look like JESUS so well and so intently by Lucas & crew; hey, the film WAS coming out right when 1999 was turning into millennium craze and THE YEAR 2000 was approaching so fast (and it still is, along with the Return of Christ; no jedis need apply!) - but that is another story!)
No - Obi-Wan's master is
JESUS
What a surprise, eh? ;)
